Girls’ Football Growing in Innerleithen – All Abilities Welcome at Leithen Vale

Leithen Vale Sports Club is encouraging more girls across Tweeddale to get involved in playing football, with opportunities now open to players across primary and secondary school age groups to play games regularly for the club.

The club, which is based in Innerleithen, offers a welcoming and family-focused environment where girls of all abilities can enjoy football, develop their skills, and build confidence.

With teams ranging from Under 8s through to Under 14s, Leithen Vale provides structured pathways for players to progress at their own pace. Training takes place weekly, alongside regular Sunday matches as part of the South East Regions leagues.

Girls’ football continues to grow rapidly across Scotland, and now leads the way in participation numbers.   Leithen Vale is proud to be part of that momentum by providing a Fun, safe, supportive, and inclusive setting for players from all over Tweeddale. The emphasis is firmly on participation, teamwork, and enjoyment, ensuring every child feels valued regardless of experience level.

The club is particularly keen to welcome new players from P1 to S2, giving them the chance to be part of a friendly community club while staying active and making new friends.
